Our festival serves as a nexus where professionals and artists can connect, fostering invaluable networks within the film industry. BSIFF is committed to showcasing not only exemplary examples of traditional filmmaking but also experimental works that push the boundaries of non-narrative forms and venture into the realm of video arts. Every submission undergoes meticulous review, ensuring that only the best in each category makes it to our screens. A panel of industry experts meticulously evaluates the finalists, ultimately selecting the most outstanding creations.

AWARDS & CATEGORIES

 

The officially selected project in each month will receive laurel and certificate and the winners will receive customised certificate and laurel and are rated at their respective IMDb pages (if applicable). Also all the monthly winners will automatically be qualified for annual screening and nominated for our, honorary Andrei Tarkovsky Memorial Award.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

 

Please review the following guidelines and terms carefully prior to submitting your film to the Black Swan International Film Festival (BSIFF). By submitting your film for competition at BSIFF, you explicitly acknowledge and agree to be bound by these regulations.

BSIFF welcomes films of all genres, themes, and origins. Please note that submitting your film does not guarantee its selection. All officially selected films, nominees, and winners will be permanently featured on our website, and we treat every filmmaker with equality.

  1. You may resubmit a film entered in a specific BSIFF month for a second chance, as each season is assessed by different judging panels.

 

  1. Films in languages other than English must include English subtitles; otherwise, they may be rejected outright.

 

  1. BSIFF retains the right to decline entries.

 

  1. Directors and producers have the option to submit more than one film in a single category and across multiple categories simultaneously.

 

  1. By submitting your film, you agree to indemnify and hold BSIFF harmless from any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses, including attorney’s fees and court costs, related to copyright, trademark, credits, and publicity claims.

 

  1. Once your film is officially selected, you will be notified, and it will be listed under Official Selections on our festival website. Being an Official Selection does not guarantee that your film will be screened at the festival; it signifies that your work was appreciated by our panel of judges, and you are entitled to use the festival logo on your promotional materials.

 

  1. BSIFF will not refund any fees in case of a submission placed in the wrong category. Films submitted without the appropriate fees or proper submission materials may be deemed ineligible at the discretion of the BSIFF programming director or executive director. The festival does not cover any expenses incurred by the filmmaker.

 

  1. Your submission should include an official trailer, poster, synopsis, and a link to your film. Please select the correct category during the submission process to avoid disqualification. We reserve the right to reassign films to the appropriate category.

 

  1. Nominee films will be privately screened by the BSIFF judging panel and will not be initially shown to the public.

 

  1. Submission fees are non-refundable; thus, filmmakers are not eligible for a refund if they choose to withdraw their submission.

 

  1. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the BSIFF from any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses, including attorney’s fees and court costs, related to copyright, trademark, credits, and publicity.

 

  1. BSIFF reserves the right to modify these Rules & Terms without prior notice. Any such changes will take immediate effect. It is your responsibility to periodically check for updates to these Rules & Terms.

DISCLAIMER

By submitting a film to the BSIFF (Box-Office Success International Film Festival), filmmakers acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions:

  1. Screening Permission:

Filmmakers understand and consent that if their film is accepted for presentation and screening at the film festival, they grant BSIFF full and unrestricted permission to screen the film or video at times of the festival’s choosing. Additionally, BSIFF may charge an admission fee for the presentation of the digital video program.

  1. Box-Office Proceeds:

Filmmakers understand and accept that they will not receive any funds from the box-office proceeds. All box-office earnings are retained by the festival to support the overall costs of the festival presentation. It should be noted that box-office proceeds rarely cover the expenses of presenting the Features and Short Film Programs. BSIFF is a non-profit cultural organization with federal, state, country, and city tax exemptions.

  1. Liability Release:

The filmmaker releases BSIFF from any liability for damages or destruction of the entered Digital Cinema Package (DCP). The filmmaker understands that the entered DCP will be securely stored by the festival, with every effort made to protect and control its viewing. The festival assumes no liability for the entry’s theft, copyright violations, or piracy.

  1. Technical Standards:

BSIFF uses Professional Pioneer International playback systems, accommodating all formats and regions, including Region 0. All entries undergo careful pre-screening before public showings to ensure compliance with industry standards. The festival accepts no responsibility for technical difficulties that may arise during the actual video presentation at the event.

  1. Program Changes:

The Film Festival (BSIFF) reserves the complete right to make changes in the program dates and times and may choose not to screen a video, even if it has been selected for screening.

  1. Submission of Materials:

The filmmaker will make every effort to provide BSIFF with a new and pre-checked hard disk or DCP for the actual presentation of the video at the festival.

By submitting your film to BSIFF, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to these terms and conditions. Please review this disclaimer carefully before entering your film into the festival.

By submitting a film to the BSIFF (Box-Office Success International Film Festival), filmmakers accept and agree to the following terms:

  1. Screening Permission: Filmmakers grant BSIFF unrestricted permission to screen their film at the festival, including the option to charge admission fees.
  1. Box-Office Proceeds: Filmmakers will not receive any proceeds from the box office; all earnings support festival costs. BSIFF, a non-profit entity, holds tax exemptions.
  1. Liability Release: BSIFF is released from liability for damage or loss of submitted Digital Cinema Packages (DCP). Security measures are in place, but the festival is not responsible for theft, copyright violations, or piracy.
  1. Technical Standards: Professional Pioneer International systems are used, and entries meet industry standards. BSIFF is not liable for technical difficulties during video presentations.
  1. Program Changes: BSIFF retains the right to alter program schedules and may opt not to screen selected films.
  1. Submission of Materials: Filmmakers must provide a new, pre-checked hard disk or DCP for their film’s presentation.

By submitting a film to BSIFF, you confirm your acceptance of these terms. Carefully review this disclaimer before entering your film in the festival.
